Silk or Mink lashes – what is the difference?

We often get the question;  do you use mink or silk?

There isn’t a nice and short way to answer this question.
All lashes for lash extensions are made from a material called PBT – Polybutylene terephthalate, a thermoplastic, a type of polyester.
It is the same material you have in all soft synthetic brushes, makeup brushes, toothbrushes and so on.
The PBT is very heat resistant and mechanically strong and therefore widely used for Eyelash extension fibers.

So sorry guys, mink or silk, it’s not that fancy. That’s just the name your manufacturer called them. The quality varies dramatically and the softness depends on thickness.

Feel free to ask us anything product related, happy to help.
